EU lawmakers endorse plans to stop sale of products responsible for deforestation

The European Parliament gave its approval on Wednesday to a new law obliging companies to ensure products sold in the EU have not led to deforestation and forest degradation, a climate policy with an impact far beyond the bloc's borders.
